March Break

What is your child doing during March Break?

Youth University is offering a week of exciting programs for children in grades 4- 8! Whether it is building the ultimate LEGO robot, designing a dream outfit or solving a medical mystery, we have something that will peak your child’s interest. Register your child for the full five days or just one!

Programs run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, and for the convenience of working parents, we offer complementary before and aftercare from 8:10 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 4:50 p.m.

Cost: $35 per camper per day
$32 per camper per day if you are registering multiple campers or for multiple days

Jr. Robo Tech
This radical robot camp is an introduction to building and programming robots using LEGO Mindstorms Robotics. Learn how to build and operate intelligent robots that can sense and respond to their environment.

Jr. Epic Engineers
Do you like to design and build things? Come solve towering design challenges and discover how the professionals solve engineering problems! Use special software to design a bridge, cities and put your building skills to the test throughout the day! Are you up to the challenge?

Sr. Rock star: Music Production
C’mon…let’s rock! Learn how the pros create digital tunes that make your senses dance while using the latest computer software.

Roller coasters, ferris wheels, bumper cars, and more! Imagine wicked model theme park rides—then make them happen as you create a program with our intelligent Lego Mindstorm Robotics.

Jr. Fashion Diva Designers
Would you like the opportunity to design your own clothing line? Learn the fundamentals of fashion design as you crochet, make jewelry and sew your way to the Extreme Fashion Design Challenge!

Sr. Stop Motion
Have you ever wanted to create your own movie? You and your team will use Lego and clay to sculpt, record, and create voice-overs as you produce your very own stop-motion movie!

Jr. Robo Tech - Virtual Ocean
Join the prototype design team for the YU Oceanic Institute as they develop and program Lego Mindstorm robots to complete a variety of tasks that will assist marine experts in years to come. Prepare to test your designs in a dry-land simulation and propose your prototypes to the marine team!

Jr. Computers Creative License
Learn the tricks and tips to make your computer projects rock! Create your own website; learn how to add music, graphics, animation, and hyperlinks to your projects. Discover some cool online templates, use an online digital photo album and learn how to digitally alter your photographs.

Sr. Medical Mysteries: Disease Control
What is that nasty disease? Learn how medical professionals solve the mystery of disease by piecing together signs and symptoms. Learn to read x-rays, examine bacteria under a microscope and check for vitals. You’ve seen the symptoms – now solve the mystery!

Drive under, over and straight through it! You and your teammates will design, build and program a Lego Mindstorm robot to dodge or destroy every obstacle that gets in the way.

Jr. Egyptology
Join us on a mysterious adventure through Egypt. You’ll learn things you never know about mummies make your own board games and write your name in hieroglyphics! Remember to keep your eyes open for clues to Osiris’s treasure.

Sr. Video Academy
Are you interested in video production? Take a glimpse the entire production process, from scriptwriting to sound recording, digital video camera techniques, to critical viewing skills and digital editing.

You’ve learned the basics; now impress your friends with your advanced programming skills! Become an expert as we focus on light sensors, jumps, forks, split tasks and more! You’ll be a programming whiz in no time!

Jr. Icky Sticky Science: Human Body
The slimy, stinky, gassy, oozy, burbly, biely science of Grossology erupts at Youth University again this March Break. Make fake blood, mucous, and scabs. Explore common body functions, including sneezing and vomiting. If you think you can stomach it – come join us!

Sr. Game Design Pro
Learn how to design and modify your own exciting video games. In this camp you’ll learn how to control characters, objects and outcomes in your own game, then increase the difficulty level and add more features.
