Graduate Student Research Prize

Open to graduate students from all faculties presenting an oral or poster presentation at the Mapping the New Knowledges Graduate Student Research Conference in April.

The winning poster or presentation will be judged on criteria including the following: significance of the question and contribution, approach utilized, innovation of approach, potential impacts of the results, and clarity of the poster or presentation.

Conference participants must identify their desire to be adjudicated for the prizes when submitting their conference Call for Proposals. Judging will take place the day of the conference. Each award has a value of $200.

Youth University PWCE (Promoting Whole Child Education) Research Prize

  • This award will be made to a full-time graduate student who has presented an oral or poster presentation at the Mapping the New Knowledges Conference related to research and theory development of the whole child as it pertains to positive health practices, interpersonal relationships, engaged citizenship, and life success. Findings with applicability to youth within the range of 7-17 years will be given preference.
  • The winning poster or oral presentation will be judged on criteria including: the significance of the question and contribution, approach utilized, innovation of approach, potential impacts of the results, and clarity of the poster or oral presentation.

 

Youth University PAPSE (Promoting Access to Post-Secondary Education) Research Prize

  • This award will be made to a full-time graduate student who has presented an oral or poster presentation at the Mapping the New Knowledges Conference related to research and theory development providing insights into, and knowledge of, the barriers and solutions to accessing post-secondary education in Canada.
  • The winning poster or oral presentation will be judged on criteria including: the significance of the question and contribution, approach utilized, innovation of approach, potential impacts of the results, and clarity of the poster or oral presentation.
