The four year Honours Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree is offered in collaboration with Loyalist College. Students at the Loyalist College site will complete their first and second years there, moving to Brock University for the third and fourth years of the program. The program must be completed within 6 years. Students at the Brock site will remain at Brock University for the four years of the program. Graduates will be eligible to write the Canadian Registered Nurse Examination and the College of Nurses of Ontario Jurisprudence Examination.

Admissions
The BScN is a limited enrolment program. Admission is not guaranteed by attainment of the minimum requirements.

Program Notes
  1. Students wishing to proceed to year 2 as a Nursing major must have achieved a minimum 65 percent overall average in year 1 courses. A student who has not passed all year 1 courses will not be able to progress into second year nursing courses.
  2. Failure to succeed in any two practicum courses will result in dismissal from the program.
  3. Clinical courses are graded Pass/Fail, however a pass with conditions (related to performance in the next clinical course) may be given. A student may only pass with conditions in one clinical course.
  4. It is the responsibility of all nursing students to adhere to the Nursing Department's Ethical and Professional Code of Conduct which is in conjunction with Brock University's Code of Student Conduct.
  5. Students require current CPR (BCLS or Level C) certification and annual re-certification which must be submitted to the Nursing Office by June 1 each year and must be valid during the clinical placement period.
  6. Students require N-95 mask fit testing every two years.
  7. Proof of Immunizations is due prior to registration for clinical courses. Immunization screening required: Measles, Mumps, Rubella; Varicella (Chicken Pox); Hepatitis B; Tetanus/Diptheria/Pertussis; Tuberculosis. Annual TB Skin Testing is required and is due by June 1 each year. Positive TB tests require chest Xrays every two years.
  8. Police record check, with a vulnerable sector screening may be required by clinical agencies. It is the student's responsibility to ensure the process is complete - at their own expense. In some cases, the student may not be allowed to attend clinical if these requirements are not met.
  9. Students in the program are normally expected to complete degree requirements within six years of initial registration. Students who have not registered for one Nursing credit in each calendar year will be removed from the program unless they have been granted a leave of absence by the Chair.
  10. A student who has not registered for clinical courses for one year or longer will be required to pass a practical exam prior to registering for the next clinical course. The student will be charged a clinical skills exam fee. If the student fails the exam, the student must repeat the last completed clinical course.
  11. Students take NUSC 4F93 when offered.
  12. In 20 credit degree programs a maximum of eight credits may be numbered 1(alpha)00 to 1(alpha)99; at least three credits must be numbered 2(alpha)90 or above; at least three credits must be numbered 3(alpha)90 or above; and the remaining credits must be numbered 2(alpha)00 or above.
    In some circumstances, in order to meet university degree and program requirements, more than 20 credits may be taken.
