Special Needs Activity Program

Curriculum and Equipment

Every Thursday morning the SNAP teams sets up 24 stations addressing fine motor, gross motor, fitness, games, imaginative play, group play and sensor-motor skills.

Each station has an activity booklet to assist the volunteers in choosing activities for the child/children.

The stations are designed to foster a variety of special needs and developmental issues that relay to movement education. To coincide with the Ontario Curriculum, the SNAP coordinators use innovated and creative ways to assist in developing stations, provide ideas for lessons, and help structure activities our volunteers can implement with the children.
