Admission to the program

In keeping with its interdisciplinary character, the program welcomes students from a variety of academic backgrounds.

  • Applicants will normally hold an honours undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum average of 75%.
  • Applicants will be expected to be proficient in English.
  • Applicants must supply three letters of reference
  • Applicants must supply a statement of interest outlining their research background, interests and goals.
  • Applicants must supply a current resume or curriculum vitae

Students have the option of pursuing a program of course work with a thesis, or course work with a major essay. Individuals interested in part-time options should consult with the Director.

Applications are due February 1, 2010 for September 2010 entry into the program. Students are required to enter the program in September.

The Admission Committee will review all applications and offer admission to a limited number of suitable candidates.

Fall Preview Day

I am pleased to inform you that the Faculty of Graduate Studies has linked up with Undergraduate Recruitment and arranged for our graduate programs and our FGS staff to participate in Fall Preview Day to be held on Sunday November 8th from 1-4 pm. 

The event will take place in the Ian D. Beddis Gymnasium. This event will replace the Open House that we have hosted in the past that was exclusive to prospective Graduate Students.
