The following awards and prizes are available to students in CPCF. For awards that require an application, please refer to Brock University's Awards page.
Entrance Scholarships
E.S. Rogers Communications Inc. Entrance Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
No Application Required
Number Awarded: 1
Awarded to a student entering first year studies with outstanding academic performance and a declared major in Communications Studies where no other scholarship is available to the student.
David R. Wills Bursary in Communications Studies
Amount: $900
Application Required
Number Awarded: 1
Awarded to a student who is a resident of Ontario in good academic standing (minimum B average) entering into a degree in Communications Studies. Preference will be given to qualifying students from Centennial High School, Welland, Ontario. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and meet Ontario residency requirements. The award is resricted to non-smokers.

Ken Boyle Cobra Radio Memorial Book Prize
No Application Required
Value: $100. Awarded to a graduating student with an outstanding record in Communications, Popular Culture and Film.
Lou Cahill Scholarship in Communications
Application Required
Donated by the Canadian Public Relations Society, in co-operation with Enterprise Canada, St Catharines, Ontario
Awarded annually to a graduating student in Communication Studies. The successful recipient will have demonstrated commitment to academic excellence, community involvement and/or participation in charitable activities.
Prize:
$1,250.00
Successful applicants may be offered a four-month Media and Public Relations internship with Enterprise Canada (formerly OEB), in St Catharines, Ontario, commencing in May. A monthly stipend of $1,000 will be included with the internship. To learn more about Enterprise Canada, visit their website at http://enterprisecanada.com.
All applications must include the following:
* A two-page statement that demonstrates your commitment to academic excellence, community involvement and/or participation in charitable activities (maximum 500 words).
* A current resume outlining your educational, work and voluntary experiences

Chimpanzee Award
Application Required
Donated by Chimpanzee Communications, St Catharines, Ontario
Awarded annually to a graduating student in Business Communication or Business Administration.
All applications must include the following:
* A short biography that may appear on the Chimpanzee website (maximum 150 words).
* A one-page statement that explains why you would be a good fit at Chimpanzee. Be creative! Your statement should include a description of your career goals and aspirations (maximum 250 words).
* A current resumé outlining your educational and work experiences.
Prize: $1,000.00
Plus, the successful applicant will be offered a four-month work experience placement at Chimpanzee Communications, St Catharines, Ontario. The starting date is flexible. To learn more about Chimpanzee, visit their website at http://www.chimpanzee.ca/

Sumner and Helen Grant Award in Popular Culture
No Application Required
Awarded annually to a Popular Culture major or combined in third or fourth year for outstanding academic achievement.
Warren Hartman Bursary
Application Required
Value: $200*. Awarded annually, by application. Divided equally between each of three outstanding students majoring in Dramatic Arts, and in Film Studies and in Visual Arts, who have completed their first year and are entering their second year. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and meet Ontario residency requirements.
L. Amy Kerr Book Prize
No Application Required
Awarded to a student in any year in Film Studies, Dramatic Arts or Visual Arts who has displayed strength in academics and participation in the University community.
Anne Perozuk Book Prize in Critical Writing
No Application Required
Awarded for excellence in an essay submitted by a student in a second- or third-year FILM course. Consult the department for details.
Nicholas Ring Memorial Scholarship for Film Studies
Application Required
Value: $500*. Awarded to a student entering fourth year of Film Studies in the Department of Communication, Popular Culture and Film in the Faculty of Social Sciences. The recipient of the scholarship must demonstrate exceptional academic merit, as well as financial need and meet Ontario residency requirements.
E. S. Rogers Communications In-Course Scholarships
No Application Required
Value: $500*. Three scholarships awarded to students with outstanding academic performance in the first-year of Communication Studies with a declared major in the program.
Anita Skinner Bursary in Communications Studies
Application Required
Value: $800*. Awarded annually, granted on the basis of academic excellence and financial need, to a student entering third year of the Communications Studies program at Brock University. Preference is to be given to a student from the Niagara Region.
Bohdan Szuchewycz Prize in Communication Studies
No Application Required
Value: $100*. Awarded to a full-time student entering their Honours year, in Communication Studies, with the highest major average upon completing third year, with the recommendation of the Chair of the Department of Communications, Popular Culture and Film.
