Accessibility at BUFS
BUFS is proud to be part of Brock's university-wide commitment to provide facilities, programs, and services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of persons with disabilities.
The Accessibility at Brock web site provides information on policies and practices under way at Brock.
BUFS encourages all staff and students to become aware of accessibility and stay up to date on accessibility practices and services.
BUFS invites comments and suggestions to assist us in enhancing all areas of accessibility. Email comments or suggestions to email@example.com.
Any planned disruptions to BUFS screenings will be posted here.
THE OCTOBER 30TH SCREENING OF MUSEUM HOURS IS CANCELLED DUE TO THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE THEATRE.
Landmark Theatre provides male and female washrooms with accessible stalls. These are located at the rear of the theatre complex.
Assistive Devices Available
In the event that a closed-caption version of the film is available, Landmark Theatres can provide a limited number of CaptiView rear-projection devices for closed-captioning. Contact Amanda to determine if a film will be closed-caption enabled.
Service animals are trained specifically to perform various tasks to assist a person with a disability. A service animal may go with a person with a disability anywhere in the theatre that people generally have access, unless excluded by law for health and safety reasons.
BUFS recognizes the Access 2 Entertainment card recognized by Empire Theatres. Persons with a permanent disability who require a support person when attending the Empire Theatre are eligible for the card. The Access 2 Entertainment card provides free admission for support persons accompanying a person with a disability at member movie theatres and selected attractions across Canada. The person with the disability pays regular admission.
Please present your Access 2 Entertainment card at the BUFS ticket table.
Getting to BUFS
BUFS screens at the Landmark Theatre, Pen Centre, located on the west side of the Pen Centre mall.
Six designated accessible parking spots are available directly across from the entrance to the Landmark Theatre.
The transit terminal is beside the Bay. BUFS guests with disabilities travelling on transit may proceed through the mall to the elevator by the mall entrance to the London Arms. Take this elevator to the main floor by the London Arms and Service Ontario locations in order to gain outdoor access to Empire Theatre entrance.
A ramp and door equipped with an accessible door operator are at the entrance to the theatre. The theatre facilities (concession, washroom, etc) are located entirely on one floor.
Limited designated seating for persons using mobility devices (wheelchairs, scooters, etc) and accompanying support persons is inside the theatre.
If you require assistance to or from your seat, BUFS volunteers are available to assist you.
In the event of an evacuation from the theatre, Landmark Theatre staff will assist BUFS volunteers and guests to safely evacuate from the building.
