Spring/Summer OSAP Guide
Want to know how to get OSAP for the spring and/or summer sessions? Follow these four simple steps!
Step 1: Submit Spring/Summer extension form
If you were receiving OSAP funding during the 2012-2013 Fall/Winter terms at Brock, you won’t be required to complete a new OSAP application. Simply complete the Spring/Summer extension form linked at the bottom of this guide. Be sure to fill out the right form - the undergraduate form is submitted online, but the graduate form must be printed and submitted. You can expect your extension form to be processed within a few weeks of submission.
If you were not receiving OSAP funding during the 2012-2013 Fall/Winter session, you will be required to complete a new application on the OSAP website at http://osap.gov.on.ca. Please note that if you are submitting a new application, you must be registered in both the Spring and Summer session (new OSAP applications must have a minimum duration of 12 weeks).
Step 2: Receive email in Brock account
You will receive an email in your Brock email account when your extension form has been processed. You will also receive a Notice of Reassessment from the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities. Remember: you need to be registered in your spring/summer courses for us to process your extension!
Step 3: Receive funding
3 to 10 days after we confirm your enrolment, you should receive your funding. Depending on how you filled out your original OSAP application, your tuition may be paid directly, or you may have to make the payment yourself. If you aren't sure how you filled out your fall/winter application, just drop by our office with your Social Insurance Card and valid, government issued photo identification - we'll look up your file for you. If you do not have your social insurance card, we can also accept a Notice of Assessment from Canada Revenue Agency or a Confirmation of your Social Insurance Number from Service Canada.
Step 4: Inform Brock of any changes to your information
If any of the information reported on your OSAP application changes, be sure to let us know! This includes your income information, your address, and your course load, for example. If you have any questions, you are welcome to drop by the Student Awards and Financial Aid Office any time between 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-4:30pm Friday.
