2012-2013 Part-Time OSAP Guide
If you are studying part-time, you may be eligible for Part-Time OSAP funding. In order to qualify for Part-Time OSAP, you must be registered in a 20% - 59% course load, which is 0.5 to 1.25 credits per term at Brock. Keep in mind that Part-Time OSAP funding is only to help with educational fees such as tuition and books, not living expenses.
1. Complete an application on the OSAP website
When you submit your Part-Time OSAP application online, you will be asked to list the specific course(s) you are taking. Keep in mind that we will not be able to process your application until you are registered in the course(s) and the fees are showing on your Financial History page.
The length of your study period will determine when your application must be submitted to our office.
Study Periods that are up to 20 weeks long:
- no later than 6 weeks prior to end of your study period
Study Periods that are up to 21 weeks or longer:
- no later than 90 days prior to the end of your study period.
2. Print and complete the “OSAP for Part-Time Students, Declarations and Signature of Applicant” page
Along with the “OSAP for Part-Time Students, Declarations and Signature of Applicant” page, attach proof of your current income (i.e. paystub, letter from employer, social assistance stub) or an explanation of how your daily living costs are being met if your income is zero.
3. Mail your Signature pages and proof of income/explanation to Brock

If you are in the area, you are also welcome to drop your documentation off in person. Our office is located on the 4th floor of the Schmon Tower and our office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30am-12:00 and 1:00-4:30pm.
4. You will be sent notice of assessment in mail
Once your OSAP documentation is processed, the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities will send you a Notice of Assessment. You will receive this notification by mail.
5. Wait to receive an email in your Brock account
The Student Awards and Financial Aid Office email you when your loan documents are ready for pick up.
SAFA is open Monday - Friday from
8:30 AM through 4:30 PM.
We will be closed on Friday, December 11th, from 11am through noon, for a staff meeting.
We will close on Friday December 18th at noon for a staff party. We will reopen on Monday December 21st.
We will close for the winter break on Wednesday, December 23rd at 4:30pm. We will reopen on Monday, January 4th.
