Welcome to Rodman Hall Art Centre
Director's Message
The fall season often signals a fresh start in the world of art galleries and museums - rather like a child's first day of school. At Rodman Hall our fall programme is reflective of a new phase in Rodman's history. As we come close to our 50th anniversary in 2010, we reflect on the importance of the orignial vision statement formulated by a group of committed individuals in St. Catharines in 1960 and transport that passion into the 21st century.
We are pleased to present an exciting roster of contemporary exhibitions including paintings by Monica Tap and Michel Daigneault, a photo-based installation by Adad Hannah, an outdoor sculptural installation and Niche project by Simon Frank, an installation and performance by Tor Lukasik-Foss, and interesting fashion garments by Columbian born artist, Maria Fernanda Cardoso. Our public programmes include another VERVE event in October, a panel discussion on Public Art as part of our HOT TALKS! and new initiatives such as corporate workshops and a Collectors' Group. Of particular significance is Rodman's expansion of the Educational programme to include school tours, more workshops for children, teens, and adults, and specialized programmes connected to the Ontario Visual Curriculum.
Please join us this fall as we insure that the experience of Rodman inside and out offers a respite from daily life and a nuanced perspective on the world. Enjoy an afternoon exploring the gallery, strolling our gardens and grounds, or discovering the past at the historic home.
