Adult programs are designed to support beginner through intermediate artists in a supportive environment. The limited class size allows for personalized one-on-one instruction. Class projects change each time a class is offered, so returning participants are always welcomed. Class fees include materials unless otherwise specified.

WATERCOLOURS:

Beginners Techniques (Part 1) - Registration Closed

Instructor: Jana Simms-Bergsma

If you are a watercolour beginner or want to refresh your painting techniques, Beginners Techniques is designed to provide you with the basics required for successful watercolour painting. Instruction will include: wet-on-wet, dry-on-wet, shading, values, washes, use of masking fluid, and other essential techniques. Then develop these skills in Watercolours Part 2 (see below).

Class size is limited to 8 participants.
Note: completion of Part 1 is required for beginners to enroll in Part 2.

Thursday March 20, 6:30 – 8:30 pm

Part 1 & 2 (7 sessions): $150 / members $135
Course fee includes painting kit (paints, brushes and paper) to keep at conclusion of program.

 

Watercolour Painting Studio (Part 2) - Registration Closed

Instructor: Jana Simms-Bergsma

This course is dedicated to the love of watercolour painting. Learn to paint in traditional methods and also experiment with watercolours mixing many techniques while examining the importance of composition, value and colour. Explore a variety of painting styles and brushwork as you develop your skills. In the final classes you will receive one-on-one instruction as you work towards a larger finished piece inspired by a famous art work or a personal photograph.

Class size is limited to 8 participants.
Returning participants may enroll directly in Part 2 and receive a discounted class fee (see details below)
