Residence Life Staff
Moving into a new community and a new way of living can be challenge, but the residences have been set up to make that transition as smooth as possible. For one thing, there are people here to help.
Interested in employment on the RLS?
Each residence has a Head Resident who monitors residence life within his/her respective building. If your Don is not available, the Head Resident is the next person you should contact. Head Residents are the leaders of the Residence Life staff team in their building. They assist in some administrative decisions and in residence disciplinary matters.
Don of Academics
The Don of Academics (or ADs as they are more commonly known) are placed across the residence community. In addition to their general RLS responsibilities, ADs are dedicated to supporting residents in their efforts to be academically successful. APs connect students with the broader academic resources and services of the campus, provide referrals to students in need of academic assistance, and work collaboratively within the AP Team to facilitate residence-wide academic programs and initiatives.
Don of Activities
The Don of Activities (or DAs as they are more commonly known) are placed across the residence community. In addition to their general RLS responsibilities, DAs are dedicated to running energetic social programs in residence. DAs work as a team to plan inclusive, all-ages events for residence students, and serve as a liaison with the Residence Action Council to maximize the quality, quantity, and variety of event opportunities for residence students.
There is a Don for each house in DeCew, Vallee, Earp and Lowenberger, for each court in the Village and each block in Quarry View. They are there to assist, counsel, direct and refer. Your Don will have information about residence life, time to talk if you're having difficulty, and will intervene and provide guidance if you aren't respecting residence rules. The Dons work closely with the Head Residents to maintain a positive sense of community within the residences.
