Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans

Brock University's Research Ethics Office (REO) has a mandate of providing education relating to the ethical conduct of human participant research to members of the Brock community. The Research Ethics Office would be happy to meet with researchers on an individual or class basis, to facilitate a case study discussion, present an overview of research ethics issues, or simply participate in an informal discussion.

• Federalwide Assurance (FWA)

Under the United States Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Code of Federal Regulations 45: Part 46 A Protection of Human Subjects [refer to section 46.103] every institution engaged in human subjects research supported or conducted by any United States Federal Department or Agency must have assurance of compliance approved by the United States Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP). The assurance formalizes the institution's commitment to protect human subjects.
