Registration Hours

Registration will be open except during the shaded periods shown below.

December 21 to January 1 - Christmas holidays

Please consult the Web for any other unexpected down times.

Registration may not be available at times due to reasons beyond the control of the Office of the Registrar. The registration system will inform you of such instances.

Note:
All registrations will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis until the enrolment limit is reached for the course.

Important Dates

Registration Opens:

For Spring Session: March 15, 2006
For Summer Session: April 17, 2006
For Fall/Winter Sessions: June 30, 2006

Registration Closes:

Spring Session: APRIL 22, 2006
Summer Session: JUNE 27, 2006
Fall Term: AUGUST 27, 2006
Winter Term: JANUARY 3, 2007

*Regular classes for the month of July; the two weeks in August are for individual conferences and completion of final assignments. Instructors will inform students if additional class time is required.

Do not Confuse....

the last date to withdraw or drop a course without academic penalty with the last date to do so without financial penalty.

Time Limits

For a student registered initially as a full-time graduate student, course and thesis/project requirements must be completed within three years from the date of first registration. Extensions to the student's normal completion date will only be granted in exceptional circumstances.

For a student doing the entire program as a part-time student, all requirements must be completed within five years from the date of first registration. Extensions to the student's normal completion date will only be granted in exceptional circumstances.

Extensions

Extension requests, detailing the exceptional circumstances, must be submitted by your supervisor (or program chair if you do not have a supervisor) at lease one month prior to the expiry of your degree time limit. There is no guarantee that such a request for an extension will be granted.

Minimum Residency Requirement

A minimum residency requirement for full-time study is one year. The part-time study requirement is two years.
