Course Title Tourism, Sustainability and Environment
Description Theories, principles, and concepts related to the study of tourism, sustainability and the environment. Key components include tourist demand and motivation, tourism supply, principles of ecology and resource management, impacts of tourism, sustainability imperative, marketing and management of tourism, tourism in lesser developed countries, tourism and climate change, tourism health and safety, ecotourism and alternative tourism, and ethics and responsibility in tourism. Case studies of principles of sustainability applied to tourism.
Course Format Lectures, seminar, 3 hours per week.
