Course Title	Dictatorship to Democracy: Politics in the Contemporary World
Description	Politics in industrialized, capitalist, state socialist and developing countries. Compares types of institutions, parties and political cultures and recent developments in a variety of countries. Topics include the challenges of European integration, democratization and the relationship between capitalism and democracy.
Course Format	Lectures, seminar, 3 hours per week.
Prerequisite(s)	one POLI credit numbered 1(alpha)90 to 1(alpha)99 or permission of the instructor.
