Course Title	Theory and Composition I
Description	Review of rudiments; two-part counterpoint up to fifth species; common-practice harmony in writing and analysis; introduction to form; study of compositional theory and the writing of short one- and two-part compositions.
Course Format	Lectures, 3 hours per week.
Restrictions	open to MUSI (single or combined) majors or permission of the instructor.
Prerequisite(s)	successful completion of Departmental placement test in theory equivalent to Royal Conservatory Grade II rudiments.
Corequisites	MUSI 2Y05 and 2Y06.
