Course Title Child and Youth Development
Description Basic concepts and contemporary issues in the development of the child and youth, including processes in cognitive and social-emotional patterns of change. Developmental theory and research provides the conceptual framework.
Course Format Lectures, seminar, 3 hours per week.
Restrictions open to CHYS (single or combined), CHYS BA (Honours)/BEd (Primary/Junior), BA (Honours)/BEd (Intermediate/Senior), BA Integrated Studies (Honours)/BEd (Junior/Intermediate), BPhEd (Honours)/BEd (Junior/Intermediate), BPhEd (Honours)/BEd (Intermediate/Senior), BSc (Honours)/BEd (Intermediate/Senior), BSc Integrated Studies (Honours)/BEd (Junior/Intermediate), CHLH majors and CHYS minors until date specified in Registration guide.
Prerequisite(s) CHYS 1F90.
Notes students may not concurrently register in PSYC 2P12. Requests for consideration for an override are made via the Override Request link at brocku.ca/childandyouthstudies.
Exclusions Completion of this course will replace previous assigned grade and credit obtained in CHYS 2F10, 2M01 or PSYC 2P12.
