Can I apply if I am currently in my final year of high school?
Yes, submit the most current grades. Finals must be submitted as soon as they are complete. A final average as specified in your offer of admission must be maintained or the offer wil be void.
Do I need to apply through an Agent?
No, you can apply directly.
What do I need to submit in order to be considered for transfer credit?
Transcripts showing credit value and grades, as well as course descriptions, must be sent directly from the university or college attended, notarized with English translations. We will NOT accepted notarized copies of documents.
How do I know what level of IELP I start at?
Upon arrival at Brock University you will be tested using an internationally recognized ESL placement test. Based on the test results, you will be placed in an IELP level ranging from Preparatory to Level Five.
I was tested at Level Two. My Offer of Admission letter says I am to complete two IELP sessions and then begin my degree studies. How can this be?
Your offer of admission indicates you are required to complete a minimum of two IELP sessions. In your case you were tested at Level Two, which means you will need to complete three IELP sessions before beginning degree studies.
How long does it take to complete one level of IELP?
Each level consists of 25-hours per week of instruction, and is 14 weeks (one term) in length.
If I write the TOEFL (or other test) and meet Brock University’s English requirement before I start IELP, can I go directly into undergraduate studies?
No, we do not accept the TOEFL under these circumstances. In order to keep your IELP/Undergraduate conditional offer, you must attend and successfully complete Level Five of IELP. If you wish to go directly into undergraduate studies, you must drop your IELP/Undergraduate offer and apply online at www.ouac.on.ca using the 105F application form (space in the program can no longer be guaranteed). The only acceptable test is the Brock International Test of English Language Proficiency (ITELP) .
How soon will I know the results of my application?
If your application is complete, you will be notified by email within two weeks from the time your application package is received.
If accepted, when will I receive my Study Permit (VISA) letter?
Your Study Permit letter will be couriered to you within two weeks of us receiving your application package.
