Child Admittance Procedure
The Brock pool will be closed April 1st - August, 2013 for maintenance. First Aid/CPR - Courses will be offered over the Spring & Summer. Fall Swim Registration: Saturday, August 16th, 9am-12nn.
- Children under the age of six years may not be admitted to the swimming pool unless they are accompanied in the water by a parent or guardian (within arms reach) who is at least 12 years of age and is responsible for their direct supervision, with a maximum of two children for each parent or guardian (2:1).
- Children 6-9 years, who are non-swimmers, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the water (within arms reach), who is at least 12 years of age and responsible for their direct supervision. The ratio of non-swimmers to parent or guardian may be a maximum of four bathers to one parent or guardian (4:1).
- Children 6-9 years who are swimmers (able to demonstrate comfort in the water and pass the facility swim test of 2 widths of the pool of 18.5 m each) may be admitted to the swimming pool unaccompanied. Parents must be in the pool area or in the pool gallery while the child is swimming.
- Guardians or group leaders are responsible for the children in their care while in the facility and must directly supervise the children at all times.
- Guardians or group leaders must be at least 12 years of age.
- Parents or guardians wishing to remain on the pool deck must wear proper swimming attire.
- Ratios of instructors/lifeguards to bathers must also be maintained as per Ontario Regulation 565/90.
