Child Admittance Procedure

The Brock pool will be closed April 1st - August, 2013 for maintenance. First Aid/CPR - Courses will be offered over the Spring & Summer. Fall Swim Registration: Saturday, August 16th, 9am-12nn. 
 
  1. Children under the age of six years may not be admitted to the swimming pool unless they are accompanied in the water by a parent or guardian (within arms reach) who is at least 12 years of age and is responsible for their direct supervision, with a maximum of two children for each parent or guardian (2:1).
  2. Children 6-9 years, who are non-swimmers, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the water (within arms reach), who is at least 12 years of age and responsible for their direct supervision. The ratio of non-swimmers to parent or guardian may be a maximum of four bathers to one parent or guardian (4:1).
  3. Children 6-9 years who are swimmers (able to demonstrate comfort in the water and pass the facility swim test of 2 widths of the pool of 18.5 m each) may be admitted to the swimming pool unaccompanied. Parents must be in the pool area or in the pool gallery while the child is swimming.
  4. Guardians or group leaders are responsible for the children in their care while in the facility and must directly supervise the children at all times.
  5. Guardians or group leaders must be at least 12 years of age.
  6. Parents or guardians wishing to remain on the pool deck must wear proper swimming attire.
  7. Ratios of instructors/lifeguards to bathers must also be maintained as per Ontario Regulation 565/90.
