Darren is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), a graduate of Brock’s BBA program where he majored in Organizational Behaviour, and has held a number of positions in the Office of Human Resources since joining the University in 1997. Prior to assuming his current role as Associate Vice-President, Human Resources in 2010, Darren held the position of Director, Human Resource Services and was responsible for a variety of portfolios including Faculty & Staff Relations, Recruitment, Health Management, Compensation, Learning & Development, and HRIS.
Darren has an extensive background in facilitation, mediation, and negotiation and has provided leadership and oversight to a variety of portfolios during a period of significant growth for Brock University. In his current role, he is responsible for the Human Resources and Environment, Health & Safety portfolios.
Darren is also active in the HR profession as a member of the Senior Advisory Group for the Human Resources Professional Association of Niagara (HRPAN), as a member of the Human Resources Program Advisory Committee for Niagara College, and participates in and contributes to the HR profession through a variety of local, provincial, and national organizations.
