Medical Physics

Looking for a Science elective?

The Department of Physics offers a one-semester, second-year level course (PHYS 2P02) on medical physics. A minimum background of grade 12 physics is sufficient to enroll; the goal of the course is to introduce modern physics to all interested students through a broad understanding of the medical uses of ionizing radiation. The course covers topics such as medical imaging with X-rays, CAT scans, PET imaging, MRI, etc., and a study of the biological effects of radiation.

See the Brock Undergraduate Calendar for course enrollment information.
