Open Access is the principle that all research should be freely accessible online, immediately after publication. Open-access (OA) literature is digital, online, free of charge, and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions. What makes it possible is the internet and the consent of the copyright-holder. More information is available at www.openaccessweek.org.
The CTLET's Teaching Wiki, Instructor Guide to Teaching and Learning at Brock are published directly to the web and free-for-reuse. The Centre's WebCT and Sakai Wikis are also published directly to the web and published under a free-for-reuse (creative commons) licence.
As an instructor or administrator at Brock University you can do your part to ensure open access to content you, or your students, create by setting up a wiki, adding content to Brock's web site or marking content in Sakai/Isaak "Resources" area as public.
