Students obtain membership in BGS through significant academic achievement. Membership in BGS provides an international badge of excellence and is the highest recognition a business student can receive in an undergraduate or masters program accredited by AACSB International. Membership (the top 10% of undergraduate students and the top 20% of masters students) will also provide a valuable alumni network and increased employment opportunities for our graduates.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p style="line-height: 15pt"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif; font-size: 10pt">Goodman's <span class="apple-converted-space"> </span><a target="_blank" href="http://www.betagammasigma.org/">Beta Gamma Sigma<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span></a>Chapter received the Bronze Medal for Chapter of the Year in 2007 and Honorable Mention in 2008, completing among 457 schools for this honour. <p>The Goodman School of Business was the second university in Ontario to have its accounting program officially accredited by the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.icao.on.ca">Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario</a>. Accreditation brings the Institute into partnership with the University. The ICAO sets high standards for a program's infrastructure, education processes and graduate success that must be met before a university is accredited.<br /><br />As a Bachelor of Accounting (BAcc) graduate from Brock, you will have attained the highest level of prerequisite credits towards a professional accounting designation available in any four-year degree program in an Ontario university. Both our regular and co-op BAcc programs are fully accredited by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario which means you will have achieved all the required University courses prior to writing your CA exams. In our BAcc Co-op program, you will acquire 16-20 of the required 30 months of practical work experience needed to receive your professional designation.</p>

<p>The Goodman School of Business Bachelor of Accounting program (BAcc) is one of eight in Ontario to have an undergraduate accounting program accredited by the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.cma-canada.org/">Society of Management Accountants of Canada (SMA)</a>. The Accreditation Process has been designed to recognize those universities that achieve high standards of instruction in management accounting. The SMA is the leading Canadian accounting organization for strategic management accounting professional. They sponsor the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.cma-ontario.org/">Certified Management Accountant (CMA)</a> program, which is the premier designation for management accountants in Canada. CMA Canada.</p><p>The Society of Management Accountants of Ontario is a generous supporter of research and teaching at Brock and is the sponsor of the CMA-Brock Accounting Education and Research Council which supports research of importance to Ontario and Canada.</p><p>The Goodman School's BACC and BBA Accounting graduates are qualified, in most cases, to write the CMA Entrance Exam which allows them to begin the professional course of study with the SMA. Graduates of the BAcc with a minimum 75% will be exempt from writing the CMA Entrance Examination.</p><p>Goodman CMA-MBA graduates are exempt from the Strategic Leadership Program (SLP) portion of the CMA program. In some cases, CMA-MBA students may also complete the Board Report portion of the CMA professional program while students in the Goodman CMA-MBA program.</p>

<p>Goodman School of Business graduates with a Bachelor of Accounting degree (BAcc) begin the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.cga-ontario.org/">CGA program</a> in its Professional Applications and Competence Evaluations (PACE) level. This means that qualified Goodman School graduates only need to take (and pass) four CGA courses to meet the educational requirements to obtain a CGA designation.</p><p>CGA courses are conducted online and are 10 weeks in length. Each course is followed by a national exam.</p><p>As a Goodman Bachelor of Accounting graduate with a 65% or higher grade in the following courses (listed below) you need only pass a challenge exam in the equivalent CGA Ontario course to earn that course credit. <p>The Goodman School of Business is proud to have our Bachelor of Business Administration program accredited by the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.cim.ca/">Canadian Institute of Management</a>. The Canadian Institute of Management is the only organization in Canada that grants designations recognizing general management skills and expertise. Established in 1942, this non-profit organization is dedicated to enhancing managerial skills and professional development. Currently with 17 branches coast-to-coast, the Canadian Institute of Management offers professional designations, training, and other membership services. </p><p>Upon graduating from the Bachelor of Business Administration program at Brock, students will have met all the academic requirements for the Certified in Management (C.I.M.) professional designation. After completing two years of verifiable management work experience they may apply to the Canadian Institute of Management for this prestigious designation. </p>
