Payment For Residence (3 payments in total)
You will need to pay a $600 deposit (payment 1 of 3) to complete your residence application. We will begin accepting deposit payments on Monday, April 8, 2013 (please do not attempt to make the payment before that date). Preferred methods of payment are available on our Finance Department web site. We ask that you do NOT mail a cheque to Brock. If Brock does not receive the $600 deposit by June 3, 2013 we will not process your application and you will not be offered a bed. There is no reminder given. We strongly recommend that you keep a copy of confirmation of your payment, e.g. print a copy of the confirmation screen if you are paying by on-line banking, or the deposit slip if you pay at your bank.

It is each student's responsibility to monitor their Financial History to identify charges that have been put onto their student account and check to see that payments they have made have been safely received. You can do so by logging into the Brock portal.

You will receive your residence building and room assignment in an e-mail in late-June. In mid-July you will see a charge for residence and meal plan (if a meal plan is mandatory) on your Fee Calculator which you can access through the Brock portal. As soon as you see the charge(s) you can make a payment into your student account. The minimum amount due (payment 2 of 3) will be indicated and payment is due by mid to late August (exact date will be posted when known). In late-September the $600 charge on your Financial History will be reversed, leaving your $600 deposit payment as a credit towards the remaining outstanding residence fees. The final payment (payment 3 of 3) will be due no later than November 15. Anyone with an outstanding balance on November 15 will incur service charges. If you are not offered a bed in residence, the $600 will remain as a credit on your account.

Winter Break Fee
There will be a charge of $160/week, or any part thereof, for students staying in residence over the Winter Break. For more details please click here to view our Winter Break Policy.

Income Tax
If you lived in a student residence in Ontario in 2012 you can apply for the Ontario energy and property tax credit (OEPTC). There is a full explanation of how to do so and a link to the form you will need to complete and submit on the Canada Revenue Agency web site. Residences are on tax exempt land therefore students are not charged taxes on residence fees. The Department of Residences does not issue receipts. However, you will find a full history of residence fees that you were charged on your Financial History on the Brock Portal. Only the current year's charges are displayed by default but you can enter an earlier date to see charges and payments for earlier years.
