Welcome! It is an honour for me to be part of the excitement of research at Brock University. I have the privilege each day to learn about new developments, new ideas, and new ways to build knowledge and insight.
Our focus on transdisciplinarity at Brock has set us on a course of finding how to best build upon and enrich research within disciplines while at the same time building the networks that cross intellectual and methodological borders.
Transdisciplinary engagement has extraordinary rewards. I have found in my own research that working across traditional domains of the experimental sciences, health sciences, and the humanities ensures that every day is a day of learning. To me, this is one of the great pleasures of research.
In a research-intensive university, we are all creators of knowledge and, in a very important sense, we are all students. I think this is the approach that creates true partnerships with our communities, an extraordinary engagement experience for undergraduate students, and the culture in which graduate students are valued as junior colleagues and research collaborators.
