The Kindness of Strangers: Charitable Donations Rise

New Data released today by Statistics Canada show that Canadians are a benevolent bunch. Charitable donations reported by taxfilers increased 2.6% from 2010 to just under $8.5 billion in 2011. In St. Catharines-Niagara the median donation was $310 per tax filer. Overall, local residents donated over 100 million dollars in 2011.
