Service-Learning Course Design
The Faculty Associate for Service-Learning and Service-Learning Coordinator are available by request to meet with any faculty or teaching staff to discuss the development of a service-learning course or any course components related to service-learning. You are welcome to bring an idea in process, your course syllabus, reflective assignments, or just your questions and we are happy to support you through this process.
Library Resources and Reflection Tools
In the Service-Learning Resource Centre you will find creative items to help you facilitate a reflective session, as well as a variety of resources in print. We have sample syllabi, articles related to service-learning, and library books available for sign-out at the library's Circulation Desk.
On-line Resources: E-mail List and Sakai Site
Faculty and staff on campus at Brock are welcome to be part of our Service-Learning E-mail List to receive updates on related workshops, articles, conference information, etc. as it comes to our attention. We also populate a Sakai site with service-learning resources. If you wish to be part of either of these, or both, please contact Sandy Howe at firstname.lastname@example.org.
By clicking here, find information on the Service-Learning Course Incentive Grant available annually to faculty and staff on campus. We also list other sources of service-learning related funding here to assist you with your projects and ideas.
Support for Staff and Students
Staff on campus are welcome to contact the Service-Learning Resource Centre with any questions regarding service-learning programs they are facilitating in their areas. Students are also welcome to use this resource centre with any questions related to a service-learning component of a course they are taking, or for information on extra-curricular opportunities to get involved in this way on campus.
Opportunities for Partnerships Within the Community
Although the Service-Learning Resource Centre isn't able to coordinate relationships with community partners on your behalf, we do post any opportunities within the community that we hear about here. If you are interested in pursing any of these opportunities, please contact Sandy at email@example.com or ext. 4126 to ask about potential support for these partnerships.
