General Award Information

* Scholarships require a min. $25,000 endowment, main criteria is academic merit (min. 75%)
* Bursaries require a min. $10,000 endowment, main criteria is financial need and satisfactory academic standing.
* Awards require a min. $5,000 endowment, the criteria can include a variety of criteria.
* Book Bursaries require a min. $2,000 endowment, main criteria is financial need.

Student Selection Process

The awarding of Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries is the purview of Senate. Recommendations must meet Faculty Handbook requirements. Please refer to section 19 of the Faculty Handbook (http://www.brocku.ca/university-secretariat/facultyhandbook [2])

* Please note: Canada Revenue Agency regulations regarding charitable donations do not allow the donor to be involved in the selection of the recipient. Please consult with the Manager, Student Awards before selecting this option.

Donor Notification

The Student Awards and Financial Aid Office will inform the donor(s) of the recipient each year. Recipients of the award will also be encouraged to contact the donor(s) with their own letter of thanks.
