Brock BioLinc is a part of the Innovate Niagara community consortium and the individuals employed both through BioLinc and through the community partners are members of the larger Innovate Niagara team. This teamwork and collaboration among the consortium is crucial to meeting Innovate Niagara’s goal of promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, employment opportunities and growth.

Jeff Chesebrough

Jeff is responsible for leading the implementation of nGen into a steady-state operation of programs and components including the new state of the art facility The Generator at One. Prior to joining nGen, Jeff was a Partner and Vice President of Operations, of Innivity Marketing group, where they were awarded an Outstanding Business Excellence Award in 2005 from the Sarnia Chamber of Commerce and were named in 2006 by Profitmag as one of the Top 50 Emerging Growth Companies in Canada. In his previous consulting roles he was responsible for completing organizational reviews, system reviews and various other projects for both the public and private sector. Jeff has helped numerous organizations implement ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, which directly involve the review of business processes to facilitate continuous improvement.

Jeff has been the recipient of many prestigious awards in Niagara including recently being name St.Catharines Jaycee of the Year in 2008. In 2006 and 2007, he was recognized as one of the emerging entrepreneurs in the Niagara Region at the Niagara Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. In 2005, Jeff was presented with a 40 under 40 Business Achievement Award for his contributions to both business and community in Niagara.

With a strong commitment to community, Jeff has been actively involved in volunteer and sports activities in Niagara. Jeff is a member of the Government and Economic Affairs Committee of the St.Catharines Chamber of Commerce, co-chairs the Computer Programmer/Analyst and New Media Web Design Advisory Committee at Niagara College and is a Past-President of the St.Catharines Jaycees (current member). He has also has been involved in Big Brothers of St. Catharines, as well as coaching hockey, baseball and basketball in St. Catharines

Dan Lynch

Dan Lynch is the Manager of Brock University’s BioLinc, effective July 23rd, 2012. Dan brings a strong and career-long commitment to assisting SMEs and academic researchers, facilitating commercialization and has a proven track record in industry liaison. Prior to joining Brock he served as Industry Liaison Manager for Innovation York, York University; Dan was also the Vice President Commercialization and Chief Operating Officer of HTX, Ontario's Health Technology Exchange, a leading catalyst for accelerating the growth of Ontario’s medical and assistive technologies industry cluster; and for many years he was an Industrial Technology Advisor in the National Research Council's Industrial Research Assistance Program across Southern Ontario including more than 5 years at the University of Western Ontario. In these positions he has worked with many innovative Ontario companies to assist in developing new technologies that resulted in the commercialization of new products, processes or markets.

From his private sector career, Dan acquired years of experience as an engineer and manager in the R&D, design and manufacture of process systems and equipment for the food, biotech and pharmaceutical industries and is the holder of 3 Patents.

A Professional Engineer in Ontario, Dan has a BASc in Chemical Engineering from University of Toronto and a MASc in Management Sciences from the University of Waterloo, specializing in the Management of Innovation and Technology.

Located at the new Cairns Family Health and Bioscience Research Complex, Dan is responsible for connecting Brock University research assets and expertise to the private sector community, particularly in Niagara Region, and matching these assets and expertise with local partner needs, providing access to Brock BioLinc services (research, technology, advisory and commercialization), enlarging our partner base, and working with others in the community to maximize the social and economic impacts of these services.

Cassie Price
BioLinc Coordinator

Cassie Price is the BioLinc Coordinator for Brock University’s bioscience business incubator, BioLinc. Educated at the University of Guelph, Cassie earned a Bachelor of Science Honours degree, in Biomedical Toxicology in 2011. During her undergraduate degree, she completed work placements at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, the Public Health Agency Canada, the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre and Rich Products of Canada. Prior to joining the Innovate Niagara Team in November 2012, Cassie spent time working with the Niagara Region, Waste Management Department. 

As the BioLinc Coordinator, Cassie is a critical planner and primary driver of facility coordination, communications and promotional initiatives. She is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of processes and to coordinate and oversee all required tasks for client, project and facility management, to ensure the timely delivery of projects at BioLinc. Cassie works with BioLinc to initiate and steward connections with students, researchers and entrepreneurs.

A life-long resident of the Niagara Region, Cassie believes in making a commitment to the community through volunteering and participation in community events. She has a passion for business and entrepreneurship and is interested in using her skills to benefit the development and success of BioLinc and the Niagara Region.
