Registering for Courses
The International Services and Programs Abroad Office will assist each study abroad student with registering for courses at Brock during the summer before their arrival. More information about this process is included in the acceptance package all successful candidates receive.
Before you can register you must activate your student account. You will need your student ID, which in located on your acceptance letter to do this.
In the meantime, you can search for courses that you may want to take while at Brock. To do this, you can visit the online timetable. Here are a few simple tips to selecting your courses:
- D1 duration is the full academic year (September - April)
- D2 duration is the fall term (September - December)
- D3 duration is the winter term (January - April)
Please only select courses that are in the term you are studying at Brock.
Once the on-line timetable pertinent to your year of study is available, you should start planning your semester(s). You will have to make sure that the courses you want to take do not conflict with each other. Here are a few tips to assist you with researching courses:
You will need to select courses that run for the duration of your time at Brock. When looking at Brock's timetable please ensure you are browsing the correct courses for you! If you are studying at Brock for a full year you should look for course codes that include an F, for instance POLI 1F90. This indicates that the course will run over both semesters and will consitute one full Brock credit. Only students who are attending Brock for the entire academic year (September-April) are able to register for these courses.
The other duration for which courses run is for one semester. These courses are called part-year courses and are marked in the course code with a P, an example is BIOL 2P93. Students studying for the entire year or one semester are able to register for these courses. These courses are only offered in either the fall or winter semester, but not both. When using the timetable please ensure that the part-year course you are interested in taking is offered in the duration (D1, D2, or D3) that you will be at Brock.
At this time, the exam timetable is not available. The exam schedule typically becomes available mid-term.
