How do I complete the Student Profile?
Student Awards and Financial Aid holds responsibility for determine eligibility for Experience Works, through the Student Financial Profile. To complete the profile:

  1. Log into your my.brocku.ca account
     
  2. Click on the Applicant & Student Self Serve tab
     
  3. From the Undergraduate Awards and Financial Aid box, click the Work Study Application link (show me)
     
  4. Make sure to check the box to indicate * I am submitting this form as:  An application for the Experience Works Program.
     
  5. Indicate the proper year/session(the session in which you wish to work) under I am submitting this form for the following session:

 You must complete a new profile for each session every year. Approval in a previous session does not guarantee approval in the next.

 

What are the criteria for Experience Works?
You must complete the Student Financial Profile for the session in which you will be working. Criteria for approval include:

  • currently a full-time undergraduate student at Brock
  • Canadian Citizen or permanent resident
  • have demonstrated financial need
  • have an overall average of at least 60%
  • for the Spring/Summer session, you must have attended Brock full-time in the previous Fall/Winter AND be returning to full-time studies at Brock in the following Fall/Winter

 

Why must I be eligible for Experience Works?
Funding for Experience Works is regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training and is subject to certain rules and guidelines. Funding can only be offered to students who are eligible according to these rules and guidelines, all of which have been taken into consideration through the Student Financial Profile for Experience Works.


What happens if I am not approved for Experience Works?
If you are not approved for Experience Works, you are not eligible for Experience Works positions in the session for which you completed the profile.

Experience Works only funds a very small portion of the jobs available on-campus; there are many on-campus opportunities that do not require Experience Works approval. Visit the On-Campus Jobs section for more information.
