Experience Works is a program that offers funding to full-time faculty and staff at Brock to help fund their on-campus student positions.
Experience Works aims to help faculty and staff to provide you with meaningful work experiences that will help you to develop valuable and varied employability skills and help you to develop a strong resume prior to graduation. You must be eligible for the program in order to be hired for a position funded through Experience Works.
To be eligible for a position funded through Experience Works, you must be approved for Experience Works in the session in which the position will be held.
Am I Eligible?
Complete a Student Financial Profile for the appropriate session and Student Awards and Financial Aid will determine your eligibility based on the information you provide. For more information about the criteria for eligibility, please see the FAQ.
You will receive an e-mail regarding the decision made on your profile. If approved, print out the approval email as proof of your eligibility.
You should provide a copy of this email with your resume or bring it to the interview for all Experience Works positions.
You must complete a new profile for each session every year. Approval in a previous session does not guarantee approval in the next.
How to Find Experience Works Positions
Many Experience Works positions are posted on the CareerZone. Experience Works positions posted on our site will indicate that it is an Experience Works job. Fall/Winter positions are typically posted in July and Spring/Summer positions are typically posted mid-February. Some positions may be posted at other times, so be sure to keep an eye on the job board.
Another way to find Experience Works positions, or any other position, is to network. Talk to your professors or department administrative assistants to tap into the hidden job market (jobs that are not advertised).
It is the employer’s responsibility to inform you that the position is funded through Experience Works and to ensure you are eligible before offering employment.
