Create a Cover Letter

First impressions count!

Your cover letter is an employer’s first impression of you. It sets the tone for your application and helps the employer decide if they want to look at your resume.

Quick tips for creating your cover letter:

  • Clearly state the purpose of your letter (i.e. identify the job you are applying for)
  • Discuss how you would be a ‘good fit’ for the company/organization
  • Write about how your skills, accomplishments and experiences match the job requirements
  • Proofread, proofread, and proofread!
