Program Information

The program has been designed to enhance the understanding of those who are interested in the field of education in the broad areas of:

• Administration and Leadership in Education
• Educational Inquiry
• Social and Cultural Contexts of Education
• and Teaching Learning and Development

This program is open to applicants who have attained at least a 65% average in any 3-year undergraduate degree. Applicants whose first language is not English must provide evidence of proficiency in English (for additional information about criteria please see the  Proof of Proficiency in English section of the Admission website. 

Successful completion of the Certificate in Educational Studies Program will be deemed as the equivalent of the fourth year of undergraduate study. Graduates of the program are encouraged to apply for admission into the MEd degree program.

1. Students interested in pursuing the Administration and Leadership field of specialization at the masters’ level are encouraged to complete EDUC 3P70 and 4P70.
2. Students interested in pursuing the Educational Inquiry field of specialization at the masters’ level are encouraged to complete EDUC 4P03 and 4P80.
3. Students interested in pursuing the Social and Cultural Contexts of Education field of specialization at the masters’ level are encouraged to complete EDUC 3P40 and 4P35.
4. Students interested in pursuing the Teaching, Learning and Development field of specialization at the masters’ level are encouraged to complete EDUC 3F01 and EDUC 4P05 or 4P35.
