Welcome first year students,
Are you ready to experience the life of a university student?
Jumping into university life is not always easy, and sometimes we all need a little help along the way.
It’s a good thing we have orientation events and programs to help you get started.
If you are already on campus, get ready for the Faculty/Student Orientation event planned during orientation week.
This event is on Sept. 5, 2012 in the Bob Davis Gym starting at 10:30am.
At this event you will get a chance to meet with professors from your department and learn about what to expect over your first-year.
We know that students love pizza, especially FREE pizza. After returning from information sessions with professors from each department, we have a free pizza luncheon for all students and faculty.
If you are not here yet, join Brock BaseCamp - “the adventure, before the adventure”. This is an outdoor orientation program designed to help ease the transition to university life.
This program looks to ease student anxieties by providing incoming students with answers and insights about first year. Being in the outdoors with fellow incoming students is an opportunity to make friends before coming to university, that way when you get here, you already have a group of friends.
Lastly, there are many opportunities to get involved, whether you want to join a club [2], volunteer in the community [3], or get involved with recreational activities [4], so don’t wait until it is to late to get involved. Start your orientation of right!
