Research Interests

My research focuses on the linkages between tourism and the processes of development. I have recently been involved in a longitudinal research project in rural Japan exploring how communities respond to the introduction of tourism.

<b>How does tourism and environment relate to sustainability/ESRC? <br></b> I am interested in the processes of development and how sustainable tourism can help contribute towards development (social justice, equity, community development, heritage, culture, sustainable development, spatial development).
