Kerrie Pickering

Graduate of Brock University with BSc in Environment, also a practicing registered nurse.

Kerrie is currently the project manager for a research project using a collaborative community approach to climate change adaptation in Niagara also present chair of the Niagara Health System,  Welland Hospital ‘Green Team”.

image/png icon<b>How does social learning and community collaboration relate to sustainability/ESRC?</b><br>Social learning provides a vehicle to ‘walking a mile in another persons shoes’, allowing community members to develop a holistic understanding of the many issues and barriers preventing sustainability. Through social learning communities can choose to work collaboratively crafting their own sustainability strategies increasing their adaptive capacity and resilience in a dynamic world. The multidisciplinary component and sustainability direction of BESRU offers an ideal environment to support social learning and community collaboration.
