The Department of Applied Linguistics (DALS) offers programs of study leading to an Honours Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Hearing Sciences [1], Speech and Language Sciences [2], and Teaching English as a Subsequent Language (TESL) [3]. As well, the Department also offers a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics/TESL [4].
The four-year degree programs (Honours and BA with Major) give students the opportunity to prepare for employment or for admission to post-baccalaureate training in a variety of fields. Students who intend to pursue graduate study specifically in Audiology should complete the Honours Hearing Sciences program. Students who intend to pursue graduate study specifically in Speech-Language Pathology should complete the Honours Speech and Language Sciences program.
The Department also offers programs of study leading to a Certificates for Hearing Sciences [5], for Speech and Language Sciences [6], and for Teaching English as a Subsequent Language (TESL Certificate) [7].
