Stargazing- Astronomy 101
With spring months come the longer days and shorter nights. What better time to begin your understanding of the night sky! If you have no formal training in Astronomy, but wish to develop a greater appreciation, this course is for you! In class we will discover astronomy basics, including the Earth’s celestial cycles, the solar system along with observational information, sky watching techniques and visual aids. Weather permitting we will venture outside and put our knowledge to work. There will be telescopes set up for the ‘hands-on” experience as well.

Meditation for positivity
Come ready to challenge yourself and discover the daily practice of meditation. These five weeks will be a chance to bring positive change in the direction that you choose.  We will learn different approaches to meditation including guided relaxation of the different levels of consciousness; breathing exercises to induce relaxation and well-being; chakra meditation; visualization; sound immersing and self- inquiry.  Each class will present history and theory and ample practice.

Photo books
Explore the possibilities available for creating and sharing your work through photography books. This workshop will break down the options and materials behind making your own photography book that you can share with family and friends. The goal of the workshop is to provide a complete picture of the online photography bookmaking process. Participants are required to bring in a series of photographs to be used for their book project. Book cost is dependent on dimensions and page numbers.

Introduction to Social Media
This introductory course provides an overview of social media. Through hands-on demonstration including a variety of social media tools, you will discover how YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest are shaping modern communication and how to incorporate them into everyday business and personal communications.

Analog photography
Getting into the analog lifestyle requires a bit of patience and commitment, but the experience
is worth it. This course will introduce you to black and white analog photography as you learn the fundamentals of using a 35mm film camera, darkroom processes and techniques
through a series of assignments and hands-on lessons in the darkroom. You will learn to develop your own film, make contact sheets and enlarged prints. A functioning 35mm camera is required for this course.

Mountain Biking
Entry-level mountain bikers will embark on an adventure that will lead you to your summer adventure! Learn the fundamental skills necessary to safely navigate the trails as you climb and descend the escarpment, overcome obstacles such as roots, rocks and logs and learn shifting techniques to gain control over your bike. You will also learn the need to knows of racing including sports nutrition, conditioning and race prep. This adventure course is action packed, sustainable and progressive.

Ukulele
Want to play some music at the next campfire or jam session that you attend, but don’t want to carry around a large instrument? The ukulele is a four-string instrument that’s becoming very popular in mainstream music and with music lovers looking to learn a new instrument. In this course, you’ll learn the theory and basics of playing the “uke”, such as picking and chords. You’ll be sharing your tune in no time. Please bring your own ukulele and your enthusiasm.

The Art of Turntablism
Here is your chance to learn the basics behind the instrument of the future! In this class we will explore everything a beginning DJ needs to know about turntablism.  Join Marinko in this one day workshop as he explains and demystifies dj equipment and techniques. You will even have a hands-on opportunity to explore the skills you learn.

You will be guided through some of the most historic areas of Niagara. Bring your camera as you hike through history.

This hike will take you along the scenic Twenty Mile Creek. and learn all about the Glen Elgin ghost town.
