Louis Volante is a Professor in the Faculty of Education at Brock University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. In 2016, he will be a Visiting Scholar at the Graduate School of Governance UNU-MERIT (United Nations University – Maastricht Economic and social Research institute on Innovation and Technology) in Maastricht, the Netherlands. His research is focused on the following interconnected themes: education governance, global education policy, education policy analysis, international achievement studies, and comparative and international education. Professor Volante has more than 75 publications, which have been widely referenced by scholars in more than 30 countries, and every continent. His research has been supported by Departments of Education and external funding agencies such as the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). Professor Volante is a former recipient of the R.W.B. Jackson Publication Award, which is awarded annually by the Canadian Educational Researchers’ Association, for the best English language journal article.
