Planning for Interruptions to Regular Operations at Brock University

For faculty and other instructors, it is always a good idea to have a contingency plan in place in the event that you are unable to attend class due to illness, emergency or inclement weather. It is even a better idea to design programs and courses in such a way that students can continue to learn and be assessed if classes are disrupted due to any number of unforeseen circumstances.

The Centre for Teaching, Learning and Educational Technologies (CTLET) has created a guide for Flexible Learning Options in the Event of an Interruption to Normal Operations or Pandemic at Brock University.  The guide references the many course design options and technological alternatives that instructors should consider.

It is also important to be familiar with Brock University's Inclement Weather Policy, and details like the re-evaluation that is made by mid-afternoon about evening classes.

If you have questions about modifying your course to be more flexible please contact contact someone in the CTLET at brocku.ca/ctlet/about-ctlet/staff
