On January 19, 2011, Alex Anthopoulos — Toronto Blue Jays Senior Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager has scheduled a visit to Brock University.
This is a great opportunity for Brock Students to get a glimpse into the world of professional sport through the eyes of one of today’s leaders in the business.
Alex will be discussing giving in sport among other sport and business related topics. The guest lecture will be held on Jan 19, from 12 to 1p.m. in Academic South 203.
Accompanying Anthopoulos, will be Brock Alumnus and former member of the inaugural Brock Badgers baseball team — Andrew Tinnish. Tinnish is the director of scouting for the Jays, and offers a world-wide perspective on sport.
As a Brock graduate from the Sport Management program, Tinnish has a breadth of knowledge and experience for current students of the program.
Tinnish will be giving his version of Globalization and Sport from 2 to 3:30 in Thistle 248.
This doubleheader will provide students with insight into the mechanics of professional sport management, and giving them the opportunity to raise questions to leaders of the sport community.
This event is open to all Brock students.
