Nuit Blanche Brock 2010 is a multidisciplinary art and performance exhibition that will take place at Brock University between 6 p.m. until midnight on Friday, December 3, 2010. Artwork will be shown in various locations throughout Thistle complex, the Mackenzie Chown complex, and the Library. The James A Gibson Library has extended hours until midnight to allow visitors to view the five art installations that will be installed in the Learning Commons. Nuit Blanche Brock 2010 is based on the Nuit Blanche (?White Night?) exhibitions originated in Paris, France and later shown in Montreal and Toronto. The exhibition lasts for one night only. Focus is placed on installation, sculpture, video, performance, or a mixture of those art forms.
The five art installations in the Learning Commons include:
- A student video on the video art wall
- An art installation on the windows facing Thistle hallway
- Two book works installed in the display cabinets by the Help Desk
- A large book sculpture located near the main library entrance with other parts of the installation located throughout the Learning Commons
