Dr. Candace Figg is an associate professor in the Department of Teacher Education. After teaching in Texas public schools for 15 years, she returned to the University of Texas to complete her doctoral studies. Her doctoral research focused on the influence of teachers’ beliefs on the effective integration of technology into daily classroom teaching. She currently teaches courses in educational technology, including the "Teaching and Learning with Computers" course for P/J and J/I teacher candidates. She has co-authored the text A Handy Guide to Teaching and Learning with Technology: Designs for Unpacking Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK). Dr. Figg's research interests include the development of Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) in teacher candidates, the impact of tech leadership upon technology use in classrooms, the influence of mobile and emerging technologies on 21st century teaching and learning, and the use of social network media to impact professional learning.
