Brock Continuing Education Instructors

Adrian D'Avirro is originally from London ON but currently lives in St. Catharines. Having studied Therapeutic Recreation at Brock he currently works and lives in St. Catharine's providing special populations with the enjoyment of music therapy. He has played as a multi-instrumentalist in many St. Catharines based folk bands and continues to lend his talents to aspiring bands. Having learned ukulele from his father he continues to play and teach the instrument to both young and old. He describes the instrument as "one of the easiest and enjoyable instruments to play from beginner to professional.". He enjoys spreading the gift of music to anyone willing to learn and listen and looks forward to introducing the instrument.

Aldo Parrotta
As a graduate of Art Fundamentals Program from Niagara College and Graphic Design from the International Academy of Merchandising and Design in Toronto, Aldo Parrotta has channelled his passion for art, design and all things creative into a series of comprehensive hands-on design classes. Graphic design, typography, art and digital design is explored in each class and presented in an interactive learning experience. Active in pursuing new trends and media in graphic design, Aldo remains current with his skills so that classes are relevant and no aspect of this craft is ignored.

Archie Hood has owned and operated a retail and commercial photography business which included major advertising and marketing campaigns for over 35 years.He has been teaching students photography for over 30 years and in 2004, he received the Niagara College Continuing Education Teaching Excellence Award.Archie believes in sharing his photographic skills with individuals that wish to advance their knowledge in photography.

Art Weaver has been running and hiking trails of Niagara for over 20 years. He has extensive knowledge of all of the Conservation areas and trail systems of the Niagara region and in particular the Niagara Escarpment and the Bruce Trail. Education includes a degree in Landscape Architecture with honors Ecology. Amateur historian of Niagara as relates to each scheduled hike location.

Barry R. Ashpole’s interest in opera spans more than a quarter century and his collection and research interests focus primarily on the works of Giuseppe Verdi. Barry has published and presented on a wide range of subjects and topics related to opera and early sound recordings and is a regular contributor to specialist publications of book and sound record reviews.

Gay Douglas Broerse is the Executive Director of Literacy Link Niagara, the Chairperson of the Early Childhood Community Development Centre and past Chairperson of Small Business Club Niagara. Over the past 30 years she has served on and reported to dozens of boards of directors.

Gianluigi Folinazzo has a strong knowledge of the culture and history of Italy and has extensive experience teaching Italian.

Heather Morton-Craig is a Professor, Academic Advisor, and Field Practicum Coordinator in the Faculty of Applied Health and Community Studies Department at Sheridan College. She is currently working toward a Master of Education in Administration and Leadership at Brock University after obtaining a Degree in History and a Diploma in Community Outreach and Development. Prior to joining Sheridan, Heather worked in the Community and Social Services sector with a variety of populations including at-risk children, youth, and adults, with a focus on teaching and facilitating. She has a passion for teaching and learning and aims to inspire a love of learning in her students.

Magdalena Titian is a professional painter for more than 38 years and has taught art nationally and internationally. Her work has been featured in dozens of art exhibitions locally and abroad.

Tina Robinson is a computer systems technologies and is MOS Expert certifies. She has been training adults for over 20 years in a variety of applications and topics, including Microsoft Office. Tina endeavors to make learning fun with her patience and sense of humour.
