Rodman Hall Behind the Scenes: Our Instructors

<p><span style="color: rgb(204, 0, 0); font-size: 1.8em; font-weight: bold; line-height: 1em;">Art Educator</span></p><p>As the Art Educator at Rodman Hall, <strong>MICHELLE NICHOLLS</strong> coordinates and organizes public programming, outreach, art education classes and camps as well as School Tours. She is an Educator and Artist and is a graduate of the Graphic Design Program at Niagara College as well as the Bachelor of Visual Arts Honours Program at Brock University. She enjoys teaching all ages and holds a bachelors degree in Education, also from Brock. She works with many art forms including painting, drawing, printmaking and animation, but also has a passion for making and teaching beaded jewellery.</p> [1]

<p><strong>DAPHNI DREMETSIKAS</strong> enjoys many forms of art and Photography but is currently exploring alternatives to traditional art media including: creating Assemblage and Appropriation. Daphni is a graduate of the Brock University Teacher Education Concurrent Bachelor of Education Program, specializing in Visual Arts and has recently obtained her Master's Degree in Education, also from Brock University.</p> [2]

<p><strong>DANIELLE WOLTZ</strong> is enthusiastic and passionate about both art and education. Danielle is a graduate of the University of Windsor’s Fine Art Program, specializing in printmaking; she also earned her Bachelors of Education from Brock University. In her spare time she enjoys exploring digital photography.</p><p> </p> [3]

<p><strong>JANA SIMMS</strong> is a local artist who specializes in scenic painting. Besides teaching for Rodman Hall she also paints scenery for the Shaw Festival and other local theatre companies. She received her BA in studio art from McMaster University and is currently focusing on a series of large paintings based on St. Catharines. In her personal work she enjoys integrating forms of drawing and printmaking.</p> [4]

<p><strong>KAMI FEVERY</strong> is a proud supporter of art education, allowing children to uncover their own creativity. She has recently completed her 4th year of Concurrent Education, Junior/Intermediate at Brock University, with a focus in Visual Arts, and is currently completing teacher’s college. Kami particularly enjoys painting, however she has also developed an interest in multi-media work.</p><p><br /><br /> </p> [5]

<p><strong>KATHERINE PERCIVAL</strong> loves all forms of art and has participated in many herself. Dancing, painting, drawing, sculpting, mix media, and photography are only a few mediums Katherine has worked with, but her favourite is mixing everything together. Now the only thing left missing is proper music lessons. She is completing her third year of studies at Brock in Concurrent Education (Intermediate/Senior) for Visual Arts.<br /><br /> </p> [6]

<p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style=""><strong>DEREK MCMAHON</strong> is interested in drawing, painting and sculpture, primarily using portraiture as subject matter. He has taken a variety of studio classes at Brock and is currently enrolled in fourth year of Concurrent Education (Junior/Intermediate) for Visual Arts. He is an advocate for arts education and is passionate about teaching at the intermediate level.</p> <p> </p> [7]

<p><strong>T.J. CHARLTON </strong>is completing an Internship during the 2012/13 school year. As part of his studies, TJ will work with the Director/Curator Stuart Reid and the Educator, Michelle Nicholls. He will be increasing the galleries public profile through social media and will be developing artist video interviews to be used in listening stations within the gallery as well as on Rodman Hall’s YouTube page. He will also be developing an on-line exhibition that will feature selected works from the Permanent Collection. T.J. is currently completing his final year of studies in the Visual Arts program at Brock University, where he focuses much of his studio time creating intermedia/video artworks.</p> [8]
