We Welcome the World Summer Reception 2010

On June 16, 2010 Brock International welcomed scholars from around the world at the We Welcome the World Summer Reception. The event is organised to formally recognize new participants in the VIP, VIS and UM programs. Scholars from prestigious universities in Colombia, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Iran, Japan, Pakistan, Poland, The Netherlands and Tunisia were treated to a warm reception at the event held in the Pond Inlet. 

The event was attended by senior University officials, Ms. Kim Meade, Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President Student Services and Dr. Murray Knuttila, Provost and Vice-President Academic who both gave welcome speeches to this term's international scholars. Past scholars and Brock faculty were also present. Ms. Sheila Young, Director of Brock International also gave a warm welcome speech to the scholars and invited them to visit our newly open International Centre at 573 Glenridge B.

Scholars at the reception and their Brock host faculty were presented with awards to formally recognize their valued participation and contribution to Brock University.

The event was a good occasion for scholars to establish contacts with Brock faculty and fellow international scholars and at the same time learn about their various countries through an international photo quiz. Photos used for the quiz were pictures of historical locations in each of the scholars’ countries of origin.
