Pictured below are examples of how to use a content audit spreadsheet.
Click here to download the content audit spreadsheet. Open it in Microsoft Excel. Then go to the website you wish to audit.
As in the picture above, each menu item should be imported into the spreadsheet. Top-level menu items can be given whole numbers, eg. 0.0. 1.0, 2.0, etc. Each item underneath the top-level items can be numbered as part of the subset, eg. 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc.
Fill in the other columns of the spreadsheet with who is responsible for the page, which external files are on the page, any comments and the status of the page in the content audit.
