Research

My research addresses tobacco use among older teens and young adults, with particular attention to smoking cessation. Working with a multi-disciplinary team of educators, health professionals, researchers and students, I investigate how and why young adult smokers quit, what cessation strategies they prefer, and what outcomes they achieve. I also study whether and how health professionals support smoking cessation among older teens and young adults. I am co-Director and Principal Investigator of an exciting, province-wide tobbaco control initiative that combines innovative tobacco control programming with applied research and immediate knowledge translation.
